For those of you eagerly awaiting the release of FFXIV your wait time won’t be much longer. Square Enix have announced that FFXIV will be released for PC on Spetember 30th. The game will ship in both “Standard Edition” and “Collector’s Edition”.
Those of you buying the “Standard Edition” will be set back the expected £40 whilst those of you willing to spend a little more on the “Collector’s Edition” will be looking at shelling out £50. The standard edition comes with a 30 day free trial. If you decide you definitely want to devote your time to FFXIV then you’ll be paying £9 upfront every 30 days after the trial period is over.
The collector’s edition will come with:
Early access to the game allowing you to play 8 days earlier than everyone else
A behind the scenes DVD
A FFXIV branded security token for use with your password
A Travel Journal containing previously unreleased concept art
A redeemable voucher which will get you a fully personalized Right of Passage certificate stamped with a unique serial number
And to top it all off the cover of the collector’s edition is illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. oh and you’ll also get the 30 day free trial also included in the standard edition. What more could you ask for? aside from an FFVII remake. and FFV on the DS. okay well you could ask for a lot more but you have to admit this is a pretty sweet deal.
No details on when the PS3 version will be released. Only a vague “Coming 2011″ is being thrown around so we’ll keep you posted on that one.
