The Herione / Protagonist of Final Fantasy XIII.
An strong and independant young woman who can destroy numerous enemies
swiftly and easily. Lightning wields a large high-tech weapon that can
transform in mid-battle from a blade to a gun and vice-versa, the weapon
has been given the nickname "gunblade".
Lightning was designed with specific instructions from Motomu Toriyama
to Tetsuya Nomura, for her not be a feminine main character like Yuna
from FFX and FFX-2, but to be very powerful, independant, confident and
strong-willed.
Motomu Toriyama: "When I asked Mr. Nomura to design this character,
I requested someone like a female version of Cloud from FFVII."
